AWARENESS TO PUBLIC BASIC LEVEL

Specific objectives:

  • to motivate the learners to take interest in herpetofauna.
  • to make them understand the importance of conservation measures.
  • to prepare them to learn emergency life saving skills and avoid man-animal conflict situations

  • Target group :

    Nature Enthusiast, Reptile lovers and Student learners (age group, between 15-65 years).

    Duration

    One day (6 hours)

    Pre test

    Role of reptiles in the ecosystem, Importance of zoos in conservation, Myths, snakebite, man-snake conflicts

    Activities

    Story telling Concept presentation, group work, Anecdotes, case studies, demonstrations, Guided tour

    Post test

    Audio visual presentations, flash cards, concept cards, discussions, de-briefing, simulation, response schedules.

    Outcome

  • The learner appreciates the world of reptiles and understands its importance in ecology.
  • The learner understands various methods of conservation.
  • The learner learns skills to avoid man-animal conflicts.
